Willem and Jesse Kuijpers

Willem Kuijpers learned the trade from his own father, who was a carpenter at one of the last sawmills on the Zaan. As a boy he was already standing among the shavings. In 1991 he started on his own, in an old timber shed in Zaandam where we still are today.

His son Jesse joined in 2020, after training as a furniture maker and a few years with an interior builder in Amsterdam. He draws in 3D and brings a more modern eye for design. Willem keeps an eye on the joints and the wood. Usually they agree, and otherwise the best idea wins.

We only work with solid wood from sustainably managed forests. Every staircase, every cabinet and every door is made to measure. No job is too small or too big for us, from a shelf in an alcove to the renovation of an entire Zaan house.
