Many Zaan houses still have a wooden front of overlapping boards, in the well-known Zaan green. What is behind it is often a hundred years old and tired in many places. We love working on it.
We replace rotten facade boards with new ones in the same profile, repair joists and recreate window frames from the original. In protected village areas, such as Zaandijk or Westzaan, we coordinate with the council.
A wall out, a void in, an attic that becomes a bedroom. We do all the carpentry for the whole conversion: beams, walls, roof windows and finishing. For the brickwork and installations we work with people we have known for years.
Renovation is always quoted individually, after a visit. As a guide: re-boarding a ten-metre-wide Zaan facade costs €6,500 to €9,500, converting an attic into a bedroom €9,000 to €16,000.
Ask for a designFor a front dormer, a listed building or a house in a protected village area, usually yes. We check it with you and supply the drawings for the application.
We do the carpentry ourselves and arrange the bricklayer, plumber and electrician. You have one point of contact: Willem.
The weather side of our wooden front was completely worn out. Willem remade the boards in exactly the same profile. The neighbour asked whether it was really new.

Solid oak plank and herringbone floors, laid, sanded and oiled. We also restore old pine floors.
