Planks or herringbone

Wide oak planks bring calm to a large room. Herringbone suits classic houses and livens up a small room. We glue both down to the subfloor, so they work with underfloor heating too.

Old floors

Under a lot of carpet in the Zaan region there is still a hundred-year-old pine floor. We sand it back and replace the broken boards with reclaimed pine from our own stock. Then we finish it with oil or lacquer.

What does bespoke cost?

Solid oak planks, laid and oiled, from €115 per m². Herringbone from €135 per m². Restoring an old pine floor from €38 per m². All prices include VAT.

What you'll want to know about floors

  1. Can a wooden floor go on underfloor heating?

Yes, as long as it is glued down and no thicker than 15 millimetres. Then the heat comes through well and the wood hardly moves.

  2. How do I look after an oiled floor?

Vacuum, and now and then mop with a soap for oiled floors. Once a year a maintenance oil, which you can do yourself.

Herringbone floor in the living room and hallway. Beautifully laid, and with the underfloor heating it is lovely to walk on.
